Pre-60's .308 Lever - Anyone know value?

Have inherited a few guns recently and one is supposedly a pre-60's .308 lever action Savage Model 99. Has an internal rotary clip and is in pretty good shape. Someone offered me $200 but another guy said they are worth a bit more than that..?

There are a bunch of different model 99s and as always it depends on condition. 99's in any sort of decent shape start at $300US and can go into the thousands. Check over on this site

It is for Savage collectors. You'll need to post some pictures and at least the first half of the serial number. From the number you can tell the date of manufacture (DOM) Take off the fore end and see if there is a model number stamped on the front left sife of the receiver.
