Gophers in full swing

I whacked about 100 with my .223 today. Whooooeeee was is fun! They are tough to see right now in the brown grass with no contrast.

I'd post some pics, but it's not really my thing to post carnage. They come apart like CRAZY with fast VMAX bullets. BOOOM with a big cartwheel!

I called my connection today and he said the fields are still full of snow and the ground is too soft for this weekend of shooting. I'll have to wait another week or so before he lets me enter his fields.

:(

I was out from noon to 4pm today and shot off about 200 rounds of .22 LR with about 75 kills (windy and I'm out of practice!). Saw one weasel, but didn't whack him as he is a fellow gopher assassin--- mutual respect and all that.
Looking to stock up on some .223 in the near future for some real acrobatics. Saw some major badger activity signs too in my field and I feel an evening run is in order soon to put an end to that business. :D
Can't wait for those 25 C days of setting up in the warm sunshine with the .223 and whacking them from 200 yards.

Good job bud! I'm all sighted in and loaded 1k 222 rem rounds ready to go. Too much snow and cold here in Manitoba yet. Gophers will be tougher yet to once pastures grow up a bit.

I went out to sight in my .243 and they kept running around behind my target .... oh well they count as targets, or volenteer's. I had my .22 along as well and popped a couple with that as well

Okay, I know I said I wouldn't post a pic, but dang. Not too graphic, but just shows the effectiveness of .223. I'll remove it if you want.

This one was lasered at 237 yards - BOOM - headshot.

I took the whole week off for nothing but gopher smacking. Spent the snowy season loading up 400 x 55 gr Vmax, and 250 x 55gr James Calhoons. Once this whole family weekend is done and the kids are back into school - 4 days busting sod rats.

!!!!!!!!!!

Too much snow here still and my .223 isn't in yet. It's starting to piss me off already as I ordered and paid for it in the first week of Feb.

I got out for a few hours in the morning... Wasn't too many out til closer to lunch but we still managed to bag about 20 which is about 16 more than last year :)
I was using my Rem 597 in .22LR and it worked minty although I shot more than I hit

Well if I cant get into my field tomorrow (muddy) I will try to zap some gophers with some 107gr SMKs at 3000+ fps :D

If I cant get into my main field it will be Bluedot loads with 40gr BT's out of the 223 :)
