.50 Cal Upper for AR Lower

They've been making alot of stuff these days, I wouldn't be surprised if something is in the works.
I know if you really want you could import it through questar, there are a few guys in the states who were making them.
I worry about these though regarding lower reciever strength. You'd think after a certain amount of rounds that the pin hole supports on the lower reciever would start to peen... I just see it as an aluminum lower that was designed for .308/.223 and now you're using a cartridge that has much much more recoil.

Absolutely nothing .50 cal comes out of the states anymore.

The Ferret upper I have is a single shot.
I too was concerned about how the AR lower would respond to the unusual recoil characteristics of a 50, but apparently there is no concern. Talking with a number of guys in the US that have them and have shot thousands of rounds through them , they apparently work very well. I have not shot mine enough to really consider my experience conclusive, but trust my US sources as I know them well.
By putting a 50 cal upper onto an AR lower, needless to say makes the rifle a "restricted" firearm.
We are working on a lower project that hopefully will be un-ARish enough for Ottawa to deem them a Non restricted firearm.
There are a couple of side loading repeaters up here as well, I have 1 here from a client for the very purpose of making a lower that is non restricted.

I was looking for one. The only offer I got was more close to twice that...
I didn't say it was.
I was told, and others have been told, by the RCMP firearms forensics people that if a firearm can mount and fire a factory AR15 upper, that firearm is an AR15 variant.
no joke, i couldnt believe it as ive never seen anything with "50 bmg" in the title for less than 4500. someone else musta seen the ad.
So people need to make custom uppers a tad longer than stock ARs. They won't fit on AR lowers.
Prices are unheard of for firearms generally speaking. If you look at this manual on how to build your own, you may wonder why it costs so much. I don't honestly mind a machine shop making a decent profit especially if we're to support the industry, but I have to draw the line if things start to get out of control. All I want to do is have a little fun and at $6 or more per round the cost of the rifle is almost (almost) secondary.

Which is exactly what I said. Except then you are making a whole new gun and there is no reason to make it look like an AR15 at all.
