Finally.

Last January some sadistic bugger planted the idea in my head that I should have a custom rifle built. Well, a few emails, a few phone calls, time, and a bunch of bills that I have purposely stored separately to avoid inadvertently adding them up, here it is:

stiller.jpg

Stiller action, bottom metal, 20MOA rail, and Timney trigger from Ian Roberston
Stainless, Kreiger 6.5mm barrel, no. 4, 1:9 twist from Obtunded
Chambered in .260 Rem, finished to 26", assembled, and trigger tuned by Mick McPhee
Robertson Composites two-tone, General Purpose Hunting stock, bedded by Ian Robertson

Hopefully getting out to the range this weekend to try it out. I'll mount my Falcon Menace 4.5-18x56 for this, but I will be looking for something a little more fitting later on.

Why 1 in 9?

I thought a 1 in 8 would be the best twist.................

On edit to add; I have a 260 with a 1 in 9. I read that a 1 in 8 was better for long range accuracy.

that can be true with 139-160gr match bullets, which might not stabilize well. But if all things are equal it will shoot 107/123/130gr and most hunting bullets up to 140gr with the same accuracy as 1-8" twist. :runaway:
