Please, would someone please take on the IOR business? We just received a scope back from Ted Gaillard and have to send it back to Romania and so begins another verse in the saga. We just received back two scopes, having to threaten legal action as they had them for about 180 days. On a lightly-used 4-14X50, they advised after a dozen + inquiries that it was abused. This was sent 30 Sep08 and we received the reject email 2 weeks ago. There were no marks on the scope other than light ring marks. Theye refused to fix a new 4-28X56 even though these models were faulty.

IOR Valdada USA would simply replace scopes, but now won't deal with Canada, leaving IOR customers in this mess.

Regards,

Peter

CanadaAmmo is planning to be the Canadian source for IOR. (See the thread in the CanadaAmmo section of the Dealer section). He will also be doing a straight swap for broken scopes and sending them back for work. He may also offer re-conditioned scopes later. Unfortunately he is kinda busy with the whole T-97 thing, so I have no idea when it will actually happen.

IOR, as of last week, says there is no agreement in place and they would like to have representation here.
I read that CanAm would replace new scopes withing a year. What happens past a year? No coverage or a 200 + day wait doesn't cut it in Canada. This is why we are not importing IOR and are selling what we have at cost. Purchsing IOR at any price is a gamble!

Not only is the warranty service poor, the ratio of failures compared to Nightforce is a joke; IORs fail a few thousand percent more than NF. If I ever get time, I'll post numbers from warranty file.

Regards,

Peter

I remember when Ted Gaillard was pretty excited about IOR, it wasn't that long ago. I wonder what he's thinking now? One thing about it, whatever he thinks he won't pull any punches when he talks about it. I don't think Ted is capable of sugar coating anything.;)

It is refreshing to see dealer willing to show numbers of returns of different brands. Many seem to be more motivated by the markup than the quality.

Once we are set up we will have a lifetime warranty. Send it to us and we replace it from stock. Very simple. The T97 fiasco has delayed our plans with IOR until later this year.

JEEPERS!!
I musta got lucky, as the scopes I bought from you are excellent, Peter!
Good to know, I can't even bring myself to sell one used now, knowing that it may crater on the poor soul who buys it.
I guess I'll be looking at a different brand if i ever get crazy about Fclass.
I do have a few leupolds and Unertls
lurking in the scope drawer, though.:D

I have a few IORs as well, but as stated, they do fail considerably more than NF. It's all numbers when it comes to quality control.

Peter
