I just received my new 6X47lapua that was suppose to be built on a Stiller single shot TAC 30 action and when I opened the box I saw a hole where there was not supposed to be one. They sent a repeater action to the smith that put my barrel on. I never discussed anything with him, only that I wanted him to barrel the action I was sending to him. So he did not realize the error. My question is now what do I do? Sell my Manners MCS T2 stock and buy a different stock and bottom metal or try to get a single shot action and my smithing costs out of them?

Contact the person that sold it to you and tell them they messed up. If they are a reputable company they would pony up the extra cost incurred in putting the barrel on the proper action as well.

hmmm, likely find out from your action supplier what went wrong in the first place with your action would be a good place to start. Never dealt with Stiller before, they seem to have a good reputation, perhaps they will make it worth your while? If they don't want your action back I am sure there are many on this forum who would not mind owning it and then you can keep your stock. Just that you will have to wait all that much longer is all.....

I got the action right from Stiller through one of the SnipersHide group buys. It was suppose to match my other action and they had sequential serial #'s starting with SH####.

I feel for you. I agree you won,t have any trouble selling the action and if you got in on a group buy you should actually make some extra cash. If this had been posted a week ago I would have taken it . I just bought a surgeon.

I has a 1-8" twist, 27" long, 5C rifled Broughton barrel on it.

I have 1000 Boron Nitrite coated 105 Scenars and 5lbs of Reloader 17 waiting for it. Jason Barney was getting 3200fps with 105 bergers out of his with Reloader 17.

The other day we worked up a load with Reloader 17 in my friends savage that we put a 243 Win, 1-8" twist, 28" long Mcgowan 4 groove barrel on. We got 105 bergers up to 3396fps with 44grs with just the slightest ejector mark. Accuracy was 40.5gr at 3070fps though. We also shot 95gr bergers with 44.5grs at 3420fps. If it was my gun I would be looking for an accurate load with them.

Now if there

is a load I am having a hard time believing it is either you have mentioned above. Is your velocity correct?

Read my post on RL17 musings. I was over 3200 fps in a 6-6.5X47 with 105 Bergers and only 39.4 grains of powder. No pressure signs either. 115's were at 3100 with no pressure signs at all.

If I can get it to shoot accurately, it will be a fantastic powder for this cartridge range.
