I was bored, overhauled the old 870

Too much time on my hands and a little luck on the EE, here's the result:

It started as an old express, made around '92 I think. The receiver is a little pitted, I might do somethig about that down the road, but it doesn't hurt it any. All it really needs is a new ejector, it's a little weak.

I ditched the 28" barrel and original sythetic stock, thes I added the following:

-15" Barrel from a Grizzly mag (minus the shoddy heat shield). I'll have to wait until friday to see how it shoots with just the front rifle sight. I'll likely either be modifying the sight or looking to trade for a 14" barrel.

-OLD 870 wood stock, 70's wingmaster I think. It's going to get a couple of inches cut out of it soon.

-Sidesaddle, had to.;)

-Scattergun +1 extension, extra power spring and no-jam mag follower.

The male fastex buckle in the pic is a sling mount I made out of some paracord and the buckle. It's ugly, it's cheap, and it works.

It's just a fun little frankengun for the bush, didn't build it with any practical application in mind...it has friends in the safe for that stuff.

Looks good!
How does the front site look.....is it square with the reciever or is it leaning a bit to one side?
Any chance you could post a picture looking at the front sight from the rear.....I've never seen what that site looks like.

I take very poor detail photos, the front sight does look slightly off to the right though. I don't expect this sight setup to shoot all that well, so I'm already looking at other options.

I figured it might be...I've only tried two different chinese barrels on my 870's and they both had index issues....

Another 870 overhaul

I just finished this project today. I didn't remember to take befores this time.

I did take a couple of shots 'during'....
