Snow geese?

I took my limit this morning. What a Jesus mess!!!!

There was a flock of about 900 in a field in front of me. I had snuck into about 25 yrds of them and they were not flying.

HOWEVER !!!!

Something on the otherside of the flock spooked them and I was almost killed by impact from a flock of geese... I fired 3 shots, and I call them "self defense" shots !!!:D:D

15 birds hit the ground. I reloaded and the flock was not completely over me. I was about to fire again, but caught myself,.... how many did I have the ground??? When I found out it was 15, I managed to scrape up another 5 that happened by when I was cleaning the others....

There are thousand and thousands around here now,.... going all night and day.

Now for the story.

After getting my limit with no camera, I thought tonight I'd go video tape some and post it for you guys to see this crazy ass flocks. Well i found a giant flock ans snuck out into the field. About 1500 birds, me with commentary all the way, taping, sneaking closer and closer, saying things like "soon they will fly" and "watch the sky disappear any second"

I creep and creep and creep, inch by inch, in complete stealth and concentration on the birds. Then it happened, rooooooaaaaaaaar, they went to wing, my heart pounding as I taped them, ... and then from 5 yrds behind me BANG BANG BANG !!!!!!! I almost #### my pants!!!!!!!

A guy saw me and snuck out behind me and I didn't even he was there. (though he thought I saw him).
I literally almost had a heart attack !!!! Absolutely no clue anyone was there and I was completely fixated on the birds.

It was pretty funny. The guy was in sneakers and jogging pants and t shirt.
He just bought a Benelli Black Eagle an hour before and these were his first 3 shots with the gun... we had a chat, I checked out the Benelli, and we were on our ways....

I think he may still be out driving the fields in his BMW,.... (not joking)

Tomorrow you may want to consider leaving the gun at home and hitting the roost pond around mid-morning with a good dog. You can collect all your cripples from flock shooting, that made it back to water.

There weren't any other cripples...

I cleaned each bird, and accounted for each BB that had been fired in the three shells. No chnce of other cripples....

Of course I am kidding.

The obviousness of your post hadn't even occurred to me until you posted it,

lesson learned.:)
