scope damage

Was this a factory boxed scope dropped off a shelf? I wouldn't worry about it, even the cheapest Leupolds are rated 700 Gs. Or you could just mark it dropped, and sell it to me half price.

No, It is my scope !!! I had some minor surgury on my shoulder this morning and I was reaching for some reloading manuals in a book case and it slipped and knocked the scope off the shelf  I can't see anything obvious, I guess time will tell

I hope it isn't your shooting shoulder? I wouldn't worry about it, mount it and shoot it, shoulder permitting of course. I'd be surprised if you did any internal damage.

even in the old days, the test was an 8 foot drop onto concrete for survivability- and that's going back a bit, and for baush & lomb and bushnell- to hold zero- so you've got nothing to lose if you suspect something wrong

Really, I wouldn't wait to find out. Send it to Korth's for a check-up...

If your sending in a scope that has been dropped be honest as to what happened as it helps them in their inspection. You will be surprised at how fair they will be with you even if you caused the damage. Phil.

depending on the company...

mount that shiznadz and test it out, send it in for repairs if it can't hold a zero

Actually it was 2 scopes the other one was a 2.5 Bushnell Banner They both look normal. Could you tell if something was wrong just by looking at them. I wouldn't bother to send them away. They would either work or not. My shoulder by the way feels better now than it has for the last year. They removed a cysts about 2.5"x 1"x 3/8" must have been pressing on some nerves. :D

1- you can't tell just by looking- you need to mount unless you can see the wires are broken through the scope- i had one such model way back in the 70's
2- you wouldn't bother sending them in?- there's a 10 buck inspection fee with bushnell and an exteneded waiting time, but the last time i sent in a 2.5x20 banner it cost me 11.50 to ship it and the 10 buck inspection fee, but i got back a banner dusk and dawn 1.5-4.5x32 dusk and dawn , which retails for about a hundred bucks give or take- if they don't do anything about it, you're only out 25 bucks-
