I am passing on information about Camera Land, one of our advertisers on GN, as they provided me with good customer service and stand behind their products.

I had purchased a Nikon Demo 800 yd Range finder and the one I received was faulty. Doug Paymer at Camera Land wanted to make it right. I paid the $60 difference for a Demo Nikon 1200 yard model and they sent were able to talk Nikon into sending me a brand new rangefinder at the demo price - it works marvously.

Also bought a Demo model of Minox HG binoculars which are a quality product.

funny folks at CL...I inquired about a Pentax rifle scope quite a while back and they told me:

I am sorry, we do not ship riflescopes outside of the USA

Scopes from US

There are very few US companies that will ship rifle scopes out of the US to Canada because of the major paper work hastle.

I have bought scopes from Euro Optics in the US. The process is:

- Apply for a Canadian Import Certificate (3-4 weeks)
- Once you get the permit, the US firm applies to the US government for a an export permit (4-6 weeks)
- When export permit is issued, scope is sent by postal service

the U.S. Gov wont allow them to ship scopes to Canada, so they're limited to binoculars and range finders, and yet they still advertise on this site, supporting CGN.

i'm sure they will remove you from the their email list if you ask, have you?

I wasn't able to support them because of the BS laws...

and fyi,I don't mind their newletter...although it's bs that we can't do business on items I would purchase as opposed being able to on things I don't want/need...
