I just myself a P226 Elite Stainless and I am thinking to pass my black badge and try IPSC.

I have abolutly NO knowledge about holster and mag holder.

Can you recommend the best ones for me ? Price is no object, but would like it to be soft for the guns finish (I like my gun scratch free).

And BTW, does my gun is legal to IPSC. I have put Hogues Extreme aluminum grips on and it is 9mm.

I believe a Sig-Sauer P226 Elite would put you in the Production Division and yes, the 226 is included. Full list here:

If you don't want to scratch your firearm, go for a Ghost, Super Ghost or Ultimate Ghost holster. They are not exactly CCW, but they will shave tenths off your time.

And don't forget to start practicing that initial DA pull with your weak hand.
 
I also shoot a P226 Elite (not stainless though, and a .40S&W). I am just getting started in IPSC and really enjoying it.
I bought two holsters so far, a blackhawk serpa, and a bladetech DOH. The serpa holster is "smoother", but the push button release is not practical for IPSC. I am now using the bladetech with the dropped offset attachment, and it works quite well.
If I did it again, I would get the ghost or a CR speed in the first place.

I had put the Hogue fingergroove grips on my 226, and was informed that it was no longer legal for production division. So I put a set of stock plastic grips back on.

I was really looking for a Ghost but can't find one in Canada in stock. I ordered the Blade-Tech DOH/SR from Doubletaps.

I will start with that and see if the Ghost really is needed.

Any recommendations for mag pouches, and where I can find them in Canada to mail order ?

Get a 1½in duty belt. I originally got a 2in and later found that there were less options (magnetic mag clips, etc) available.

I'm using some cheap Safariland mag pouches. But would have a good look at either cr speed, ghost or AA, when I buy the next ones.
 
Guga ribas are nice,.and fully adjustable. Ghost seem to be getting more popular,..and CR speed is right at the top,..very popular.
 
Damm it ... Cr Speed doesn't seems to make a model for a Sig P226.

Ghost can be ordered but 6-8 weeks, even more.


If you guys know more place that sells them I welcome suggestions.
