Transfer Approval While Waiting for Range Card?

First, I looked through the ATT thread and searched, with no results.

I live in Alberta, have joined MVMA in Olds and am waiting for my range card. They have been swamped and who knows when I will see it in the mail. Been waiting near 6 weeks since my cheque was cashed so far.

I would like to buy a Norc 1911 Police Model from Canada Ammo. Can I order it, have the transfer approved and receive the gun in the mail without the range card? Do I need the card for the transfer or only the ATT to get to the range? If the transfer will go through, I figure I can multi-task a bit and get the order shipped while waiting for the range card.

Is this correct?

Thanks,
Mark

Cards will be here soon. I am in the same boat. If you try to get the ATT without it, it may be denied, like mine.

I know I won't get an ATT, I just want the transfer to be approved so that Canada Ammo can complete the sale and ship it. That will take a couple of weeks probably and by then hopefully I will have a card to get my ATT with.

When I could not prove I was a member of a club, the transfer was denied. If you talk to Canada Ammo, they may do all of the processing, but they need a temp ATT to ship it to you. The CFO will deny it if you can not fax or email them your membership. Sucks, I know.

That was the question I needed answered. That does suck. I guess I will do the order, then just wait out the range card.

Thanks,

If they have cashed your check, you are a member of the club. However, you need to provide your membership number in order to get the ATT required.

Catch 22

No way. That blows hard.

I've never had to send proof to the BC CFO of membership. The latest transfer they asked again, but thats it. No fax or email the card crap.

For 40 bucks you can become an associate member at The Shooting Edge in Calgary. This membership meets all the requirements needed. You pay your money and you get your card, you then phone Canada Ammo and say your a member. That's what I did when I ordered from Ellwood Epps.
