I just bought a limited edition 10/22 target rifle with a FAJEN target stock and was wondering if anyone knew if i should drill a bipod swivel into the synthetic stock or if i should get a bipod that attaches to the barrel.

Definately into the stock and never attach to the barrel....Puts way to much swivel force and torque on the barrel to let it shoot even half perfect....

I drilled a swivel into mine with no issue. The stud part of the swivel will go all the way through the fore end and needs to be cut down a little to avoid contacting the barrel.

The butt stock screw is a little trickier, the stock on mine was hollow so there will eventually be a little play after the 1/4" of plastic, but it has held up pretty good so far.

If you can take the butt plate off to see where you have drilled for the rear swivel epoxy it in place to take out the wiggle or potential there of. JB Weld, epoxy or acra gel will work fine.

If you use the studs with the nuts instead of wood screws,
it works better, you can put a small steel plate inside for the nut to
tighten on to.

Thanks. That really helps. I think i'll go with the stud and small steel plate. It sounds the strongest.
Has anyone had trouble with the action jamming. How do you keep it clean? I've never had a semi-auto before, I always used a bolt action for extreme accuracy but this 10/22 is a target rifle and is incredibly accurate. I've had no trouble but just want to be knowledgable. I've heard some people say they've had lots of trouble and others say they've had none.
What's better, Remington hornets or CCI Stingers?

Awesome idea, it didn't even occur to me. I just have to check to see if the butt plate comes off

I just saw a CCI segment on shooting usa and they featured a small part about accurizing a 10/22, they got amazing results with the CCI's
