Hi Folks,...

I hear about the newer 1911 type norinco pistols being different from the older ones. Could someone please explain what they mean by this? Is it the finish, bells & whistles or is it in the manufacturing process? I'm lost!:jerkit:

Thanks for you help....:)

Primarily the fit and finish of the newer pistols is much better than the old ones. The newer ones are fitted with beavertail grip safety, Commander hammer and lightened trigger, and have a quite decent blued finish - the old ones were pretty much GI stock no beavertail, spur hammer, solid trigger and parkerized finish. The Police model has better sights and is available with a hard chrome frame.

Thanks for your reply, therefore can one assume there are no differences between the Gov't (plain Jane) type pistols?

Even the plain janes seem to be a little tighter but I look at all Norincos as a work in progress and expect a little de horning of sharp edges and minor re-finishing...
