No no... sorry, wasn't trying to be a grammar nazi.. I know nothing about those things, was wondering if it actually called a Plain Propeller.. like model or something.. nice find by the way

I'm sure your wife will insist that it be mounted in a prominent place, perhaps in the Living Room right above a Bull Moose mount. :p

the avro anson is indeed a light twin, in the same vein as the beech 18, used by training schools across the prairies- used as training aircraft, light ambulance,etc- there used to be tons of them across the prairies bought for their engines when surplussed- also the surplus guys would routinely cut the main spar so you couldn't fly them again without a complete re-build and probably a new airworthiness certificate- the also had a turret aft centre with a single 303 in it

You are lucky on the propeller, in that it gives all particulars right on the prop.
Length, 90 inches. The PIT, means pitch, and that means that if there was no slippage in the air, the propeller would advance 80 inches every time it made one turn.
It was made for a Jacobs engin, Model L16. I'm not sure on the model number, but I think it would be a 9 cylinder, about 350 HP.
It was installed on a twin engined Anson, used for advance training purposes in wartime, in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, in Canada.
Any Ansons with a 303 machine gun in a turret, would be used for arial gunnery training.
Don't worry about the 303 being weak for defence, there really was not a lot to defend against on the Canadian prairie!

the only place it would look good in my house is above the fireplace. but to do that I would have to take down a large mirror (which will not happen so untill she lets me I guess it will sit on the coffee table. I also thought it would look good in the garage but its to nice to sit in my messey garage.

oh, no you don't - you want one off a BEARCAT- i know all about you supercub guys- the engines are never big enough, neither are the props, you get your tires off graders, and you use the "quebec air" fuel tanks- ie a 10 gallon jerry can with a squeeze bulb stashed behind the aft seat= you're ALMOST as bad as us SUPER CHIP guys- lol
