I wanna get this gun because its cheap only 400 bucks and its a sig which means it is pretty cool but i have never seen this gun anywhere else before so I really dont know anything about it is it worth the 400 bucks

O and mags are only 40 bucks too which is not that expensive so anyone know anything about the quality if this gun?

cant be to bad, dont forget the match barrel aswell :)
if the $99 norcovs are all gone when i get some money i might just buy this one instead :)
i think you could get a 9mm barrel also but dont quote me on that.

It has a long and heavy trigger pull. For $400 it's a good pistol for the sake of owning a "Sig" but otherwise it's not my bag. We don't have concealed carry here so I'm not entirely sold on the SP2340.

So would this gun be considered like a compact then or is it like a regular size regular gun cause I know it holds the full 10 rounds

The original pistol has a 4 inch barrel. A new factory 2340 will cost close to $800, so they aren't 'cheap' pistols. The Sig Pro pistol was the subject of the largest single pistol order in law enforcement - the French National Police bought an unreal number of these pistols (something like 50,000) in 9mm. They thought they were worthwhile.

The order was 250 000, it's one of the best built plastic guns ever made. Some employees of Sig Sauer USA (Sigarms) say it's better than the P226.

I knew it was a huge order, I didn't think it was that large - I stand corrected. I guess that makes $400 a pretty good deal.

The Blueline 2340 pistols are the same as the Dlask ones... which won't come as a surprise to anyone who knows anything about these two companies.

The reason they are cheap is... 12 pound DAO.

This topic has come up a couple of times before on the board. You can get a "hammer box assembly" drop-in part to switch them from DAO to DA/SA (or the reverse), but it is like a $300 part on (in this case) a $400 gun. I have shot various of the SP2009's and SP2022's, and I like 'em. But you are way better off buying a new SP2022 or a good used one. Those are actually really sweet shooters. The surplus DAO 2340's are enticing only because of the price. I can't see a gun like that becoming anybody's favorite range toy.

Can you direct me to where you get that drop in part please

I suppose theoretically you could order it from Brownells or Numrich, but you would have to have an export permit due to the cost and - these days - they might not ship it anyway. Realistically, the only thing you can do is have a Canadian SIG dealer try and order one for you (and hopefully they can actually get one). Others may have some better suggestions. It isn't easy getting gun parts in this country.

Links to the U.S. sites are here. Man, would it ever be nice to live in the States for the purpose of this hobby. So much easier. So much more supply.

Numrich: $213.05 U.S.

Brownells: $184 U.S.

I have one. As usual Ghostie is on the money...The trigger pull is what ruins it for me. It does break predicatably is the only really good thing I can say about it. Heavy and long are the key words.

I wouldn't personally buy a Sig DAO ever again. I don't think it is even worth the $325 I paid for mine. If you really want one don't let me rain on your parade. Everyones tastes are different. Just do yourself a favour and shoot one before you buy. I wish I had...
