Nice gun show find!!

Johnn, you've got a good point. I commented on the people complaining about the high cost of everything at the Kamloops gun show. I said a good many of those complaining about the prices, just didn't understand the firearm they were looking at. In other words, they couldn't recognize a good buy.
I saw some classic rifles at Kamloops that I would state were as good a bargain as Super Cub got.
We are forever hearing people complaining about the price of used guns being as much as new ones. This type of person probably would look at the rifle SC got and said, "Six hundred dollars, I could get a new Savage for that!"

YIKES!! I forgot one:redface:, the Schultz & Larsen M68DL in 7x61 S&H!!

Totally don't need another rifle, but have wanted one of these for quite a while. Price was right, so what the heck. :D

I knew I should have gone, you'll probably just tear it apart with some loupy scheme to rebarrel it to 8mm Mauser :kickInTheNuts:

Skip the lame scope, quarter rib rear, quarter rib rear.

I had honestly expected you to pick up a 742 :D

That is sweet looking. I've always wanted a 7x57.

This is my 270 Husquvarna.

At another site, mention has been made of whats best typified as poor show quality, concerning what's available. Admittedly, a lot of 'it' is same old same old and much of the purpose may be the social factor. Get there early though, and there are some goodies to be had. The last three shows have netted me, in order, a mint 303Br. Jungle Carbine, a model 71Winchester Deluxe and a Ruger Single Six, flat loading gate model. :)My bank account may be complaining but I'm not;):p.

How much for the Model71? (if you don't mind me asking). I saw one at the CGS for $1800.

We had a young [14 yr old] shooter with us who was on the lookout for his first deer rifle. He saved $1000 from last fall till now in prep for this gun show. I suggested this rifle to him giving him first crack at it, but he passed. Seems he likes the shiney tupperware and stainless rifles better. Too bad, as this would have been perfect for him. His loss, my gain.

Like others said, the caliber by itself makes it really desirable. Those currently imported by Trade Ex are the same as the 4100, but are more accurately called 1600 Std. They usually show from Sweden in 30-06 and 270, the 6.5X55 being the scarce bird (because they did keep those).

As Woodbeef pointed out, 185### would make it a 1955 production, wich is, actually, the second year of production (introduced in 1953). Those have the steel floorplate.

As previously pointed out, these 4100 (520mm (20.47") barrel) were big sellers in Canada, especialy in 30-06, together with the 3000 Crown Grade (600mm (23.622") barrel). The Husky 5000 had a 560mm (22.05") barrel.

The 7X57 are everything but common in Canada.
Nice catch!

Not really Paul......

On Sunday, he talked his uncle into selling him his Winchester model 70 XTR in 264 Win Mag in VG++ condition. Blued with a green laminated stock along with bases and rings and 102 rounds of ammo for $500.:eek::eek:

So to call it like I see it.....

He got a way better deal from a senile uncle!!!!!:D

And for the record, he has never shown preference for "shiny tupperware and stainless rifles".:jerkit:

Don't forget: "Thou shalt not lie":p

I noticed him on two separate occasions paying attention to a new synthetic/stainless rifle, so was mistaken as to his preference.

No lie.
