Is it possible to add prohibited handguns like "12(6) Prohibited handguns" to your RPAL and what do you need to do.

Thanks

How do guys sell prohibited handguns on here then? Was there a way at sometime to add it to your RPAL?

Thanks

There are actually two ways to do this:

OPTION A

1) Become politically involved.

2) Join the shooting org(s) of your choice (i.e. CSSA)

3) Work tirelessly to influence politicians to change the law.

OPTION B

1) Build a time machine.

Until technology improves, we're stuck with "option A"...

Question for you here. Say my Grandfather willed me two of his Prohibited handguns what can I do if anything?

One last hypothetical question for you here. Say I happened to find an old prohibited handgun in the wall of my heritage house I happened to be renovating. Should I contact the CFO's office and let them know?

A 12(6) handgun that is not registered cannot be registered.
It could be surrendered or deactivated.
The CFO is not involved. Your police service could be.
IF it were something like a Colt SAA .45 with a 4" barrel, there is the POSSIBILITY that it could be rebarrelled and registered as restricted.

STFU and deactivate it. Even if you surrender it to police you could still be charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm if they want to f**k you (and they usually do).

For the love of all that is holy, don't tell anyone about it!!!

:D
In order for acquisition/possession of a 12(6) handgun to be legal BOTH the handgun AND the owner must have GRANDFATHERED STATUS.

A family friend found a 12(6) handgun that had never been registered while in the process of moving.

I hold a 12(6) PAL and asked if I could legally acquire the gun.

The answer was NO and the gun was picked up by police the same afternoon.
