The price of a moose license

I hear ya! We have 12 in our group so we are guaranteed an adult tag. Of course if we actually shoot one it works out to about 25lbs of meat each or something like that.

Oh well, it's a good time.
 
The thing I would like to know is if they say we need to manage the moose population by all this regulation ,LEH,etc-then why aren't there more moose around than when we had open seasons -plus the fact we have about one third the hunters in the field?

After you have all your equipment, it doesn't cost too much really. Sure, a moose tag is 50 clams....but how many hours do you spend out there? Quite a few. Let's say you put in a 40 hour week. The cost/entertainment value is fantastic.
If I spent 40 hours watching movies or at the bar, I'd need to re-mortgage the house.
Ammo...pfft...for the rifle, I buy a box a year. Use some for targets and 1 for the moose. ;)

NOW, the cost for a beginner is crazy..

Course, license etc 200+
New rifle - 500+
Truck - 5000+
Quad - 10000+
Cammo - 500+

Divorce Court - Priceless
 
i've been waiting six years and have a nother six till I get drawn in the 400 may have to start going up to slave lake I hear it's only two there lot of game when I worked up there
 
At least you've got a chance at a tag, here in NS, we get to pay 7 bucks to apply for the draw and I think 50 for a tag, but they only draw 350 tags for the province, so in 20 years I might have a chance to stagger off to Cape Breton to get a shot at a moose.

gun club membership 300 a year...
hunting course free (they want more hunters thats why its free)
truck.. just rent why ruin the nice new truck.. 80 bucks..
Tags 45 bucks..
figureing away to get it out of the bush with out a quad priceless..
