I have been on their site and I noticed that they have VZ24 refurbished
Some with Czeck Lion symbol and a lot without it
Wich is the diference between them?
Some thoughts about their value and colectibles?

i would think these are in the same league as the russian capture k98's. the germans took into inventory something like a million czech rifles.

If they are Russian capture,a part of them must be Romanian contract

Saw one last week. Syrian crest on receiver ring. Cupped K98k style buttplate.

I believe you answered your own question...maybe more collectibility on the crested ones but non german vz's arent worth much to begin with...

Really? Regardless of the contract I love these rifles and for functionality and smoothness of the action I prefer them to pretty much all of the German wartime mausers I've ever tried. However the scope of German rifle's I've examined has been quite small. All of the VZ-24's I've seen have been of excellent quality.

If Anthony has any more of these rifles I'm going to buy one and write a paper on them. I've been looking for a nice example for years (rampant lion or not).

I thought the canvas slings were sewn, and the leather loops buckled through them?

I don't have one on hand, but as I remember the actual sling was two fixed loops at each end of the sling.

According to Wikipedia, these are Persian Mauser clones. But somehow they don't look the same to me.

What would the value be if they were not Russian referbs?

FYI, Persian mauser were made by Brno. a Vz24 was a pre WWII carbine. the value for a Vz24 used is about $300- $400 matching with a good bore.

No way are those Russian Capture refurbs. Not a chance. If they were RC's, they would have been converted to K98k pattern like the East Germans did to their VZ24's.

Far more likely that they are simply from a former soviet state, but are czech refurbed.

Jeez, you guys! The VZ-24 is one of the finest rifles of all time, yet it seems like nobody knows anything about them? Remember, the VZ-24 came from Czechoslovakia, which was controlled by the Commies. They were probably re-furbed as a make work project. The VZ-24 was widely used by the German army after they took over Czechoslovakia, but it doesn't appear in photographs as often after 1940. They are really well made rifles, and I think they are worth the price.

P&S Militaria has them as well. He claims they were refurbed by the Russians after they moved into Czechoslovakia.
