So I've been looking for one of these for years now with not too much success.

I'm at the local range Sunday and I wander over to the rimfire silhouette area to chat with a guy I know. He asks when I'm going to start shooting silhouette which I've been threatening to do for a few years.
I tell him I don't really have a suitable rifle and he tells me he knows a guy who's flogging a 541T.
Man did my ears perk up.:D
So he gives me his number, I go home and leave a message.
Guy calls back at 9 PM last night , 20 minutes later it's mine.:dancingbanana:
He couldn't find the mag as of yet but she's good to go.
Came with a Burris 4-12 Mini Scope, Leupold rings/bases, and a hard gun case.

That's a great looking rifle. Looks like the HB version. You now have no excuses to not shoot in the upcoming Silo Nationals in Whitehorse.

I have one good reason!
My lack of shooting skills:D
I used to shoot in the winter at the indoor range here, actually improved quite a bit.

Now, not so much;)

I'll be volunteering for the National's, should be a good time.

There's no need to be shy about lack of shooting skills. What is great about silhouette is that it accomodates all skill levels with the class system. You shoot to your ability and compete against others of the same ability. At our BC prov. match last year, we had a young guy, been shooting for 2 months got classified in that time and won his class at the Provs. I'd shoot in it and let the chips fall where they may!
All the best

Shoots pretty good!

Well, took the new Remington up to the gun range tonight. Shot a few groups then got rained out.:(

Shoots the Eley Target fairly well. RWS didn't shoot well at all.
5 shot groups.

Big surprise when I shot the Lapua Super Club!:D

The Eley and Lapua both look like they grouped pretty well ...as for the RWS, sometimes a single batch of ammo can group to 2 different points...odd thing, but it's been known to happen..:p

Just dropping in here lads, I just got a 541T locally for $500 with a Bushnell Legend on it very fair deal. I'm just trying to figure out if its an HB Barrel on it. The stock is pretty marked up and i'm trying to get a new one. I've found an HB one in the US for high $200's does that seem right?
Thanks in advance. PS the thing shoots unreal first time out it was amazing. Mini mags and Tactical cci loads.

Holy Necro-thread Batman! However, comparing US prices to Canadian prices is a useless comparison. All guns go for for a lot cheaper in the US than they do here. If the scope is worth $300, I would say you got a good deal. Can't help you with the barrel size though.
