Hey everyone!

So I have heard that the newer Ruger's will not accept some of the VQ parts.. I am getting money for graduation, and I am considering swapping out the internals on my Ruger 10/22 DSP. I am probably going to go with an auto-bolt release, extended mag release, and a new hammer and whatever else for the trigger..

I am wondering, how can I tell if my Ruger is one of the newer one's that won't accept any aftermarket trigger stuff.. Are all Ruger's made like this now? Does anyone know whether the serial number will give me an indication?

On a side note, I bought a Benelli Supernova as well as $300 worth of high end (Dewey, etc) cleaning supplies for all of my guns today, so I am a happy man =)

IIRC it's the plastic trigger guard that marks the new version. The issues lies with the Hammer shims not being able to be removed.

You can do the auto release in 15 min, Mag release is the easiest mod so no probs there. The PC hammer won't work in the new ones either.

Good luck

I ordered and received a PC hammer from Hawktech. When I phoned he immediately mailed (at no cost to me) the two pieces required to make the hammer fit the new style trigger guard. When you order, let whomever know that you are replacing a new style hammer.

I have a plastic trigger group on one of my 10/22's..... But it still has the old style hammer...... The VQ parts dropped right in.

I have been told by several people that the ones coming off the line now have the new hammer set-up but that the first ones they put out they used up old stock and installed the old style hammers.

I bought the hammer shims still waiting for them from cheapgunparts.com cost me 12bucks us including shipping.. been 1 week so far they shipped them fast from the order though.. ordered on the may 2 shipped on may 3 my mail is slow heck and always in the wrong box... so i just have to be pacient.. but i did the same mods you doing add a bolt buffer takes the clang out of it and made it nicer to shoot... I have a 09 ruger and the hamer is 1 peice so I had to order the part and im waiting for it now.. but I put it in just wouldnt line up right and it fired nice..

I just bought a new 10/22 with the plastic trigger guard, does this mean I won't accept any upgrades? I was really hoping to get a better trigger in it:(.

has problems fitting the hammer inside.. the one I got was a metal one but its a 09 and the hammer is 1 peice

been looking into this when I took the gun apart to mod it a bit..

Hawktech is awesome to deal with. I called him up one day to ask some questions and spoke to him for about 15mins. Great guy.

Easy as receiving mail. :p

Cool , I just placed an order last night. I was always under the impression you couldnt get gun parts from the US with out a mountain of paperwork.

Cheers!!

Dan is the best...Your stuff should be at your door in 5 days unless Customs wants to look at the package....Then 10 days. Hawktech is just great to deal with.
