1022 Tommy Gun Kit

I have a question.

The military conversion kit still has the barrel sticking out like another 6-7 inches. Is it possible to cut the barrel down a bit to the proper barrel length of the Thompson without the rifle becoming restricted? What is the legal length? What I'm saying is the American chap's kit looks great, but AR15's version is breathtaking, and I'd like to keep the gun non-Restricted if possible.

I really hope these kits come to Canada soon, and I will most likely buy one later in the year when my money situation is a bit better. I've been looking for a cheap rifle with cheap ammo to feed it, and this will more than likely satisfy my needs.

When my kit is made available to the public (mid summer) we will hopefully have a supply of 12" barrels. But getting anything from the States right now is near impossible with the buying frenzy that is occurring. Even with the 12" barrel the Thompson will still be over the required 26" length to maintain its non-restricted status. You won't have anything to worry about except having enough ammunition to satisfy your shooting needs with a new Thompson 1022.

BTW, our first CNC made receiver just came off the mill last week.:D We still need to do some minor tweaking and then we're on to the rest of the parts. Our anodizing line should be up and running in two weeks as well. We also have a company who will be supplying walnut stocks. They have made two protoypes for us to approve and all I can say is WOW! They are really beautiful.

So far we are right on schedule and we haven't needed to source anything outside of country. You know what dat mean EH! 100% MADE IN CANADA. EH!:dancingbanana:

Soon as we have a finished Thompson we will be posting pics.

I am still waiting for the export request decision / approval.
By law, the Gov't has to respond yes or no within 65 working days.
It's been 45 working days so far.
I hate waiting!

Talking to some local businessmen down here who export to Canada often, they strongly advise to ship more than one kit per shipment as the export duties per shipment are very high. Therefore, for cheapest cost to you folks, some way to ship more than one kit at a time per shipment is best. Maybe get together with some buddies and combine orders or a store / dealer can arrange a bulk buy. I will ship individually if requested, still checking on the details, but maybe kinda expensive to ship one at a time.
Open to suggestions and advice for best results for all.

Well our first two receivers have just come off of the mill. They will be used for field testing. The anodizing chemicals arrived this morning and our anodizing line should be setup and running by weeks end. Our stock maker has two walnut stocks finished for our two test rifles and they look beautiful. We are also putting together a 1927 vertical fore grip and rear sight as a option for those of you wannabe gansters:p.

Everything is still on track for release by mid summer (July). I will post some production photos later this week.

This promises to be one of the most exciting kits you will ever see, especially if your looking for a real Thompson.;)

Ifyou need a group buy to help with import or need to know sales figures I need 2 Thompson kits PLEEEEEEASE PM me if you need

Which kit are you referring to as we have been talking about two entirely different kits on this thread. My kit is "Made in Canada" and you will not need to worry about group buys or import issues. The kit will be available in July and we will be making an announcement when they are ready for release.
