Well, the best is still from Mr AR15, and his "Trooper" build kit. The quality, fit and finish are outstanding, and much better than anything currently on the market. Sadly, only 50 kits were made available with no more to follow - a collectors piece, IMO.

Agreed, the Mr AR15 kit is deluxe. Love mine, although I made a couple minor changes that suited me. However, I'd give much to get my hands on a mag made by metalbender. I was fortunate to be able to scoop a near-new Trooper and it will be with me until they cart me off to the home for busted up old curmudgeons.

I've messed around with various attempts at drum and stick mags, with moderate success. Haven't come up with anything "marketable", but have made a couple that work with consistently infuriating regularity. I love the .22 lr, and I hate the .22 lr. Damn rimmed rimfire! When nobody's looking I slap a BC 25 in it and vent.

And, I agree about the fun gun. Looks like a Ferrari kit on a Fiero, not quite right.
