I think you may have your recoil spring assembly resting on the wrong notch in the barrel. Either that or your recoil assembly has issues. Its definitely not normal.

i second that. take the slide off and look where the guide rod sits on the barrel cam. may need adjusting

IMHO the barrel needs to be fitted properly so it can lock 100%. Factory barrels do not do this. I have seen this many times with match grade aftermarket glock barrels.

I have taken it all apart and put it back together and still is doing the same thing. I am going to take it into a gunsmith tomorrow before I send it back. Hopefully just the guide rod assembly but we will see/

I have to ask, was the gun purchased as such, or was the barrel separate? I'd be pretty upset if I received it in such a condition, that would be very lax assembly and QA.

The glock is brand new, never fired. I bought it from a great business that is a board dealer. I have bought at least 4 firearms from this dealer and I can't say enough about there customer service.

I'm not upset about it, just want it corrected. I also want to keep the gun and don't want to send it back, that is why I am trying to correct the problem myself.

An email was send to the business informing them there was a problem.

I think the Barsto was just not fitted right... not enough material removed. :)
I wouldn't sweat it.

Can you take a close pic of the barrel hood and slide all the way forward... I am going to guess it'll be a little canted (not closing all the way).

Barsto barrels are tight fitting that's for sure.

You are correct the slide isn't closing all the way. It is in the mail on its way back to where it came. I'm sure it will all get sorted out, very happy with the customer service of un-named company.

Thanks for everyones help

Damn, name the company already. I like hearing about good people. I like hearing about dummies even more, however.
