Glock 22 RTF2 - First impressions

Here is my new Glock 22. This is my first glock ever purchased as well as fired. I allready have a S&W 4046 in .40 cal and this gun is a world of difference. Right now i still cant believe how light it is.

I have attached a few pictures. The only differences between the generation 3 glock 22 are the v shaped slide serrations as well as the "rough texture frame" as Glock likes to call it

I was only able to put about 70 rounds through it this saturday, but she didint have a single hickup with 180 grain fmj 40 cal rounds. The gun fed clean, fired great and ejected smartly and i love the reset trigger. I only tried the 25 meter line as the action range was too busy.

I dont like the stock sights. I will opt for adjustable or Trijicon, these plastic babies have to go.

The grip is nice and the sandpaper like dimples make it feel firmly planted in your hand. This gun feels a lot less tiring than my 4046. The trigger is lighter and there is much less weight involved. I will know for sure once i fire 150-250 rounds through it in one session.

The gun came standard with the usual glock tupperwear box with the brush, 2 mags, a lock and a mag loader.

What did the trigger come in at? My stock 3rd gen is at 8 lbs, its really tough getting used to considering the trigger pulls I have on my other guns.
 
5 and a half and there are no options for the 3.5 lb. Im pissed about that because glock is trying to promote their "C" line by making them the only 3.5 trigger pull glocks on the market. The 22 is made for the law enforcemet market and a heavier trigger might prevent an accidental discharge in a high stress encounters. I would love to go with the glock 34, but i wont until i try my buddies

Are you sure about that? Everything I've looked at shows the "C" line having the same trigger pull as the non-compensated versions. (5.5 lbs.)

If you meant to say the 17L, 34 and 35, longer competition versions...those are showing up as 4.5 lbs.

Maybe theres something I don't know :p
 
Thanks for the pics... they make me not dislike it as much. Doesn't look as bad as the "promo" pics I've seen :D
I'll take a G29SF (no ambi) Gen4 with std.Rail!

Ok sorry to derail this thread for a second but there's something I don't understand and instead of making a new thread, I'll just ask it here real quick.

I've heard a lot of people talk about trigger pull weight in different threads, I don't understand how this is calculated? On the Glock website it shows the 34 and 35 as having a trigger pull of 2.0kg / 4.5 lbs and all other models as 2.5kg / 5.5 lbs (other websites show the exact same data) ...is this a typo? or is there something I'm missing here?

Another question, how does changing the trigger spring affect this? Glock is saying their Olive (NY1) "increases trigger pull weight from 2,5 kg / 5.5 lb. to 4,9 kg / 11 lb." and Orange (NY2) creates a harder revolver-like trigger (this I understand) by increasing "the trigger pull weight from 3,2 kg / 7 lb. to 5 kg / 11 lb."
What about connectors? It says most Glocks come with 5.5lbs connectors with 4.5lbs and 8lbs as options.

Am I correct in assuming that the trigger spring affects "take up" while the connector affects "break"? So a hard "take up" and soft "break" is what most people want?

i agree with the super tight mags, loading them became a bit easier each time around. I never had any brass crushing issues tho
 
FYI the G17/22 comes with a 5.5# connector, it's trigger pull is around 6-8lbs.

The 3.5# connector that comes with the G34/35 with a stock trigger spring usually gets you around 5-5.5lb trigger pull.

To get a true 3.5# trigger pull you usually have to do some polishing of the trigger parts.

questar sells lonewolf 3.5lb connectors.
