Well the two biggest factors with duracoat is surface prep and the airbrush. I had a high end airbrush from my modeling days and found the $10 Princess Auto brush did a better job. The Surface should be stripped of any finish. The CQ311 had a Grey paint finish that I removed with Circa 1850 stripper, I then sandblasted all parts that I was going to duracoat. After applying the duracoat I placed all parts in a room with a heater fan. Do not touch the metal for at least 24 hours.
No kidding? --??------ A $10 Princess Auto airbrush did that ? Very Nice job!! Like that color!-- I have a Galil ARM that's been crying for a makeover.
