Glock = suck

I just bought another today, a G17. I had a G22, loved it and wish I hadn't put off buying a Glock for so long. I sold my G22 and am looking forward to having a Glock again.

What kind of work do they need exactly? Mine shoot straight, shoot fast, and never jam up. Not sure what else to expect from a handgun... especially one that only costs $600.

trigger work mostly, and get rid of the frakkin finger grooves. Also, it wouldnt be too hard to make a better mag release, an easier to grab take down latch and a slide lock that isnt almost flush with the frame. Yes I know you can buy aftermarket ones but after 20 years of making the same thing youd think they would have improved on stuff instead of just throwin on some useless finger grooves and an accessory rail. Could also use some beveled edges on the top of the slide to make it more pointable when theres not time for sight acquisition and its less clunky. That said I do think the glock slide is a thing of beauty in its simplicity.

Should have got the big boy Glock compact, the G29. It's awesome. It's a fantastic shooter.

should have got the other plastic gun,...the HK P30-L 9mm....DA/SA. Custom grip panels,(sides and rears)...a slide release lever that is TOO big,..and front and rear cocking serrations. )it comes with night sights standard.)

A lot of user problems with the Glock are the result of a condition known to cognitive scientists as SFB (#### for brains). One day they will have pills for this silent killer.

The Glock itself is fine. Best service handgun since the Hi-Power.

Best. Post. Ever.

I'm quite familiar with SFB, but my favorite is ESO.

"Equipment Superior to Operator". :D

I couldn't shoot my Glock 17 well until I was shown how to do it properly. Now I am shooting it well and I like it a lot. Reliable. Reliable. Really reliable. I'd trade my HP for it any day and take it overseas. Of course it is forbidden as is most common sense in the CF.

I bought my first Glock about a month ago, a Glock 30 from Questar. It's one of those sub-compact pistols with the longer barrel for Canada, I went with the ported one.

Today a friend and I went out and did some shooting with it. I am thoroughly unimpressed. The pistol likes to eject the rounds onto your head, if not in your face. They don't eject with authority, just kind of tumble out. You also can't manipulate the slide stop with your shooting hand, it is too stiff. It isn't easy to move with your weak side hand either! I think it will loosen up but it is ridiculously hard to move.

It's cheap, I just feels like a garbage gun. At this point the only thing this gun has going for it is being small. That and you can't get them anymore, apparently. This is my first and last Glock.

+1
Yes its sucks, mine G17 and does the same all the time...plus more issues I don't want to really talk about cuz who cares, there is nothing ever wrong with a Glock it's you and me wrist limping and so on....:jerkit:
yet it cheap to upgrade (makes it even less reliable then it is) and very easy to care for...o yeah... I can also shoot it under water (what a joy :dancingbanana:)

Getting back to the original post, I can see being pissed off with the gun, but didn't these shortcomings become apparent before you bought it? Did you get a chance to handle one in the store? Before buying a handgun, I would want to go over it, handle it, kick it's tires. Flimsy manu/design would become apparent quickly.

:agree: LOL... This must be the most accurate and serious posting in this thread, together with the brick's ergonomics, of course!

And to the original poster, welcome to reality, the Internet reality that is. Here, Glocks are REALLY "perfect", in fact, the only gun in the whole world that's ever worth owning! And if you ever have a problem with one, it is definitely YOU and not the Tupperware you're shooting. :jerkit:

Ergonomics... pfft, nonsense. When you can shoot one pistol well, you can shoot any pistol well.

Agreed.

Apparently no-one told him that his first choice should have been "something that fits his hand well" and "is comfy? That's how you make a gun work.

Skills, training, all bull$hit....

Put something chrome or shiny on it... It will work better!

I have yet to meet a person who "fits" a 1911 well and can work all the controls without changing their grip.

Somebody should have told WWII troops that they were using inferior technology to kill all of those Nazi's while they had the chance.

Well of course. Remember that the phrase "millitary intelligience" is an obvious oxymoron..... :D

While I don't care for Glocks as it stands under our Canadian laws if I had to trust my life to a hand gun it would likely be a Glock I would choose based on what I have seen so far.

1. Are you shooting reloads or factory ammo? Could explain the ejection issues.

2. They call it a "slide stop" for a reason. Locks the slide back when the mag is empty. Remove empty mag, insert full mag, rack slide to chamber fresh round to start next round of shooting. The slide stop wasn't meant to be "manipulated" to accomplish the above... ;)

3. If you don't like it, sell it. There will be plenty of takers, I'm sure.

4. The little bitty Glocks are quite popular.

NAA.

Lets wait for a real gun Guru who already owns 56 Glocks and getting one more tomorrow and he will share his invaluable Glock experience with us (practice, patience and practice again) and he can shoot Glock and everything else well… shooting the Glock is not for everyone… it’s a privilege.. and the rest of us who have problem with Glock are retards…. who limp wristing ...and so on.. and yeah.. don't forget to blame it on ammo....
