I voted No even though I have one.

Sitting in the safe with a mag of XTPs on top of the valuables and some cash - OK.
Carrying on my hip in South Africa for a couple weeks - OK.

Otherwise - yeucch.

I'm in Canada. 100% of my shooting is target shooting.
The two things that make a decent target gun are a good trigger and good sights.
Glocks have neither. There are far better choices.

You're right, the Glock isn't a target gun, its a service pistol.

I love my Glocks. You can lighten the triggers and put just about any sights you want on them. They are accurate, easy to clean, reliable and hard to break. They don't cost that much and parts are available should you need them. I even like the fact that they are ugly.

I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a Glock and use it in a bad situation. It's never been my favorite, but that's an issue of mine not the pistol. Hey NAA that sub-compact 40 is a pretty rare critter in 12.6 form, bet it's a handfull!

i wouldve voted yes if:
i dont clean my guns after i shoot them.
i like plastic toy like grip
i dont care one bit how the gun looks and feels
i dont care for a short trigger pull.

so i voted NO.i always thought of getting one as a beater but i walk out the gun store after every time i ask the clerk if i could handle and dry fire it .

Yes. I have a G17 which is reliable and accurate. I used to have a G21 but I sold it with the intention of getting a G21SF but never did.

There are three firearms I won't sell. My 870, AR and G-17. Everything else is for sale, for the right price.

Those three firearms I won't sell have a lot in common. Reliability, function and durability. All three have numerous available parts and upgrades, and all three are user friendly. YMMV

+1

As long as it is an 870P.

G19 restricted myself. Had tried a 17 years back at Wild West, had to be the worst trigger I'de ever shot! Never the same pull / take up twice! But stumbled accross the 19, different feel altogether, trigger was very nice, adjustable sights also made a nice difference. I still like my single column's (HK P7 and SIG 229) but this little beast ain't bad at all.

Tried a few of them at the local "rent-a-gun" range and while there's at least one model that I was able to shoot very nicely I just did not like the feel of the frame and the feel of the controls. And while it's not a functional issue I just do not like the toy look of them. When I found that I was able to shoot other guns just as well then there was no looking back or any regrets about avoiding them.

For those that enjoy them good on ya all. They ARE nice shooting guns but they just don't twist my crank at all.
