Has anybody replaced all/any of the old style springs involved in the Sig 226 trigger pull? If yes, what kind of springs did you get and from where? Did the change improve the trigger pull/weight?

Also, where can I get detailed instructions for complete disassembly of the Sig 226? Not for field stripping it, but complete disassembly. Thanks.

I don't know if your in a hurry, but I got myself the Sigs Armourer DVD's from brownell's. Well worth the money to be able to completly strip the gun.

The hammer mainspring has the greatest effect. Wolf springs does a package with various weights, generally you work down in weight until you no longer get reliable ignition. Then go back. Usually folks end up with the 19lb spring in place.

So, I should just try the mainspring and leave all the other springs alone? I thought maybe the trigger bar spring and the firing pin safety spring could be replaced also, since they act directly on the pull.

By the way, can the new style trigger bar spring be retrofitted to a pistol with an old style spring?

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip about the DVDs guys, I'll keep it in mind. I just don't want to invest so much money into them right now, since I'm spending on reloading equipment at this moment. I know I can disassemble the whole gun on my own, I just wanted some insurance in case I had some small part leftover once I had put it back together. :D But I guess just the parts schematics will have to do for now.
