Bushnell made the Browning scopes. I have one in a 5-15 for my CZ 17 HMR, grat scope for the money as there were being cleared out by Costco a couple years back. FS

Confused..........................?????

I believe the Browning scopes are optically similar to the bushnell Elite scopes but without the patented 'bushnell rainguard' coating on the lens.

I almost bought one from Costco as well as they were ridiculously cheap.

The word I got from the Bushnell distributor that used to own practically all your Bushnell scopes is that yes, the Browning is a 3200 with no rainguard, which makes it a 3000. Gotta talk about something around a Limpopo campfire. The word 2 years ago was that whatever agreement they had was coming to an end, which would explain Costco blowing them out.
It doesn't follow that Bushnell made Browning, simply because Bushnell doesn't even make their own scopes. Low end stuff like this is usually made by Hakko, which is a conglomerate that covers a multitude of small assemblers right down to cottage industry, which narrows it down to Browning not even knowing who exactly put their scopes together. I don't have much opinion of 3000s, but if you are getting it cheap enough it might be OK to get you started. I sold a handfull of them (3000s) for $100 each, and happy to get it.

It is true that Bushnell does not make their own products as the vast majority are made under contract around the world with the best scopes being manufactured in Japan. We sold lots of the Browning scopes...these were built via the Bushnell manufacturing arrangement in Japan, distibuted by Bushnell and serviced by Bushnell in Canada. The only relationship that Browning had to these scopes were the name that was licensed to Bushnell for a brand name recognition and other than that they had no involvement in development or sales. These were decent scopes but offered nothing better than the Elite 3200 line and were a little more money. When Bushnell decided to sell off their remaining inventory they heavily discounted these scopes to dealers and I bought as many as I could get my hands on but Costco got the remainder before I could by them all (by the way my sale price for the similar models were less than what Cosctco was charging and you know they got a better wholesale cost than I did). Phil.
