I bought an SKS!

i just ordered one with a painted bolt. Is this just cosmetic? or does having a non-painted bolt make a difference?

Just cosmetic. Some of the black ones look pretty good. The few IZH ones that surfaced are very good looking.

Same as Woodbeef. They shoot very well. No difference and possibly more accurate. Mine have blown me away. It's all a matter of want you want to do. Collect or shoot?

I just got mine today. I really love it. It does not group as well as my AR. It does seem to hold "Minute of Goblin".

Got a 54 Tula. Have to clean and feed it yet. Can do that now that I got layoff. Glad I got 2 crates of ammo when I had a job.

I'm getting hitched in 27 days and my best man just gave me a sks made in 1955....she's got some dark wood with nice marbeling and all the metal is black...shot her our past mission on a logging road...wow I now see what everyone's talking about. I am amazed at how much fun this rifle is........I know I am lucky to have a great best man and a great wife to be..
