Just a little attitude from a youngster below.

Only started seeing them the last couple of years. I nearly stepped on this little fellow coming out from turkey hunting. Couldn't believe how close I got as they are rather shy birds. Heart pounding I had to dig the camera out of a knapsack to get a few shots before he took off. He didn't take of and I shot about twenty frames as I walked the field edge with him. That's when I discovered he was injured some how and couldn't fly. Yes I caught him and yes he could certainly still bite.

That woods is full of coons and cats so I stuffed him in my vest and took him home till he got some strength back so I could turn him loose again. I have a large cage and put some fruit and such to bait in bugs which they eat.

In the morning I found the F'n coons that live in the attic of my shop got him instead of the ones in the woods. They pulled him right through the wires and then didn't eat him. Oh well I guess he was destined as coon bait.

If I was the judge, this would be the top winner!

Thanks very much. I'll let my wife know. She is very proud of that shot (rightly so) and has printed if off for friends (I think that CGN user catdoo has it on his wall at home) and also as a card that she sold locally. She calls it Apple Muncher. If I recall correctly, I think that is actually two halves of the same apple as well. Even though it looks like two. She bit it in half and was in the process of moving it around with her prehensile tongue when she saw my wife and froze.
