Ok quick question,

I want to buy aftermarket high capacity mags and nothing comes up for the savage...

will ruger mags fit ?

or can someone point me into the right direction

thanks a bunch

Ian

Unfortunately the 64s have been a 10 shot capacity since the early 60s. I have never come across a mag of bigger capacity. I have and have had many of them. delightful guns to say the least.

If I may pirate this topic or a moment - do you know how well the savage takes a scope? Say, compared to a ruger 10/22?

Ted

kool thanks for all the info.... I just got 4 more 10 round mags from frontier...

Now where do I get this 3/8 dovetail ring... :)

This is my first riffle that isnt from the 1930's .... LoL ... hope this is a fun shooter... I was tired of spending so much money on rounds to go shoot at random sh!t...

I should receive it this week....

$32!! Wow, that's a lot. $20 at gun shows, I think mine were cheaper straight from savage.

My father told me that you used to be able to buy 15-20rd magazines for them. No idea if it's true or if he's mixing magazines up.

Well I got the riffle at the same time... I guess they combined it...

I just purchased this Saterday !!!!

so when it gets here I will let you know.

Hi,
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I wanted to know if owners of 64F's had any reliability / accuracy problems? I've seen these little rifles for cheap and I wanted to get one for grouse hunting / plinking.

Cheers!

If enough people wanted High cap mags would a mag manufacturer make them.
Surely enough people own 64's.

Where'd you get them and for how much? They are around $32 at my LGS.

I bought a new mag for my Lakefield 64b last year at Gobles, here in London, for just a little more than 18 bucks after taxes. I have been thinking about getting another. I should stop in and see if the price has gone up since then.
