If he is a licenced dealer he will do it all. You just have to wait for the reg to come in the mail...

He will initiate the transfer and give you a reference number. You will need to call in with that reference number to complete the transfer.

Okay, now I'm confused.

Someone said to me (buying from online retailer and this is for restricted) is just buy it and provide your RPAL # and wait for it to come in the mail.

BTW, I'm in Ontario.

A dealer can do it all online with your PAL# and city of birth (or PIN). No need for you to call unless there is a problem.

rcmp gave me a reference number but advised me to wait for the registration to come. I took the shotgun to the range way before it came. If i didn't id still not be shooting a month after i bought it :)

I called cfo and they said with the ref num you "should" be ok... so who really knows

Every time I have purchased a non-restric. through one of our supporting dealers ,all I do is give my name ,PAL # ,place of birth.Usually within a week or two ,my gun arrives via CAN.Post.
The registration card comes later.I can`t wait ,and usually have the gun out and blazing the next day.The transfer`s done, it`s in my name and I paid for it.....so I`ll shoot it.But indeed, no need to be an ass about it if questioned by the FUZZ.
