And the "i" should be capitalized. So should all your proper nouns.

Getting pretty sick of people correcting others spelling, grammer etc on these forums. If I wanted to hear that s**t I would just walk into the other room and listen to my wife who is a teacher!!!

Getting to be quite an elitest bunch.

If improper spelling and such is so bothersome for you don't following the thread.

If you think spelling and grammer is pertinent to someone's ability with a firearm at the range or in the bush you have spent way to much time on your computer and with your head shoved in a book.

Get a life and let us poor under educated souls enjoy our hobbies.

I know guy that bought the same rifle also in 30-06. I mounted a scope on it for him and sighted it in. It shot 180g factory ammo in to 2 - 3.5" groups at 100 yards. I started to get worried then tried the 165g factory ammo I brought along just in case. It shot those into .75 of an inch at 100 yards. Big difference.
 
I don't equate one's ability to spell with their prowess in the field. I do, however, draw parallels between their spelling and their attention to detail. If you can't be bothered to take the time to make it right (whether shooting or typing) then you can't be surprised when you get poor results.

If you somehow think someone's inability to spell has something to do with a lack of attention to detail then you really do have your head shoved up there so far you can't see any light at all!

The very fact that you think someone could have prowess in the field without attention to detail leads me to believe you lack real world experience.

Somehow you seem to enjoy belittling and teasing another member of this site and have found someway to justify it in your mind. Wonder why out of all the members we get so few responses?

Like I said before if you don't like a thread for whatever reason move onto another. Pretty simple, eh Doofus?

Speaking of "Doofus" ...... the OP of this thread asked for some advice. He got some good advice that would be of benefit to him and would probably alleviate his accuracy problem. Instead he chooses to ignore that good advice and states he's going to "start with another bbl" for the rifle and go with the crappy rest w/o even trying all the suggestions he asked for in the first place. Who's the "Doofus"?

If the MTM rest works "well enough" than maybe his crappy groups will work "well enough" too? Like, why bother with sand bags that work really well, if "well enough" will do?



Furthermore ....... How can you expect any serious replies to someone who asks for advice and totally ignores it? Thus the joking about spelling.

There just to make you guys happy i downloaded a spell check application = attention to detail = better results.

My neighbor just had his rem 700 accurized by a gunsmith in Manitoba. I'll wait and see if he is happy with the results. If he is, I'll have my savage action blue-printed, re-barreled, and yes bedded. Then I'll post the results.
 
I have a 300WSM in a 16fss and when I brought it to the range it grouped about 3.5 " with any factory ammo, Hand loaded and will shoot 3 shot groups under an inch every time, Buddy bought the same rifle the sme day as me , Factory ammo did the same thing , I took the rifle and did up some handloads (same load as me, Tryed about 10-12 loads befor that ) and shoots under an inch all the time
Mine is bedded , his is not .

Hand load and you will be golden , cheaper than a new barrel to
 
Do you have a 22 or 24 inch barrel? What bullets did you use? I have a press sitting at home that i never use, i'll give it a try.

24" barrel shoots great with nosler accubonds or BT's 180s and 165s ,Imr4350,IMR 4831, tryed partitions with a no go for my liking,tryed a bunch of other brands with OK results ,either gun would just not shoot factory
 
Got the rifle back from Ultimate accuracy just after Christmas. New 26in barrel and a bedded laminate stock. With handloads (165 accubonds and IMR4350, thanks BCboy) it shot under 1 inch at 200 yrds. I'm really happy with it now, Lyle did good work on it. I'm in Afghanistan now, I'll post pictures in the summer when i get back.

I agree with shortaction, too many people doing spellcheck. This is supposed to be a GUNnutz forum not a check-your-grammarNUTZ forum.
I heard a lot of yapping about how these Sav's shoot, & I'm sure some of them do, but the new 223V next door in the hands of a guy that has shot many 1/4" groups with a Tikka V doesn't impress either of us. Unless 3/4-1" for a V gun is considered good :)

Sounds like the barrel on 435er was suspect since it appears to shoot good now!
 
Wow after reading this thread I am almost to selfconcious, no semiconscious errr uhh self conscious about my spelling and grammar to post. I am few beers in after a long day of work and lets just say I am a lot better with a rifle than I am with a computer so please go easy on my punctuation and spelling. All kidding aside, I am glad to hear that your rifle is now giving you some better groups. I am sure the new barrel helped out in that department, but I do wonder if the bedded laminate stock might also have played a part in some of that accuracy? I have been looking at this rifle as a potential purchase. The one I am really considering has the accu-stock and the adjustable muzzle break. I would hate to have a bad shooter due to the barrel because that adjustable muzzle break sure is neat. Anyway, bring yourself back from Afghanistan in one piece and show us some tiny little groups!
 
I'm not too worried about spelling but lack of puncuation makes me skip reading the post, not worth the effort.

Back on topic, I know it's late but I want to mention my 114 american classic, shoots fmj american eagle 150gr buckshot patterns but shoots prvi partizan 180gr sp around moa. The type of ammo was never mentioned.
 
I'm surprised he had so many problems. My savage 11 package deal (.243 Win.) did .75 MOA with factory ammo and .5 MOA with hand loads. I haven't even bedded it yet.
