I should have my Gunnar tuned Norc Police Model in a week or two and am looking to nail down what bullet shape and weight to use. I will be using strictly lead DRG brand bullets, since that is what will afford me to shoot more often at this point in time.

I know the gun should feed anything since being tuned by Gunnar, but I still would like to stick to a bullet that has a reputation of feeding well, and being easy to reload. I would also like to decide on the weight of the bullet I would like to use. Something that won't 'push' so much that getting back on target is delayed a great deal, and something that won't 'snap' (I really don't like the snap of .40S&W FWIW) so much that my wrist will get sore after shooting for a bit. A kind of in between bullet weight. I am not a competition shooter, but I would like to start building up my technique, and then my speed so that I can start coming out to the informal club matches, and see what happens from there if I like it.

The gun is a bone stock, Gunnar tuned Norc with a 5" barrel if that info matters.

Any advice?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. How will those bullet weight be recoil wise? How much of a difference will there be between a 200gr and a 230gr?

Well recol all depends on how much powder you have in your loads, and irf you want to shoot hot or light loads, to cut down on recoil, get a heavier return srping, the standard spring is 16 lbs, I use an 18 lb spring. You can get heavier springs: but there is a draw back as the jump/recoil is lessioned, and the forward movement is heavier. So I stick with an 18 lb spring.

I to have the 18 wolf spring, in my CZ, i think stock was 14. Got 16 , 20, and 22 for playing with loads , and how far do I want to travel for the spent brass.:D
