I just received a Beauty of a #5 Enfield today with a bunch of goodies. one of them is a 32 cal. sub insert. I believe it is for a 32 pistol round. I have some 32 long colt ammo. But I can kind of remember there was also a 32 short colt round I believe and maybe others. Would it matter ??? Anyone know anything about this ??? Jack

Yes, post a pict. I am very curious about these. I have heard they only last for about a dozen rounds than can split?

Mine is for rimmed shells like 32 Long Colt. Does it look like this?

Sub caliber inserts

I should'nt think it'll be for a 32 colt, they are practically collectors status cartridges at a buck apiece to buy, with a bit of luck it'll be for 32 S&W longs, and then it will chamber,32 ACP, S&W shorts and longs, I have acouple for 7.62 Russian, and 303 british, they work very well, enjoy, Bully

I made a bunch-up over the years and 98% were for .32ACP and .32 S&W. The .32 colts would be in early examples but the colt cartridge is the same diemeter as it's bullet and are no good to shoot in S&W chambers as they will split and you will get gas in the face. A .32ACP will not fit in the colt ones so that's the test. If it is .32 long colt, don't buy the remington ammo as it does not have a heeled bullet for some stupid reason and is only accurate in auxilliaries for the 7.35 Carcano.
