not quite finished but it shoots
front sight isnt pinned and i havent decided on barrel length yet
only two problems
1- semi auto's loose the expensive brass

2- overall length is very critical but no probs with sierra 85gr hp

so you've taken a cheap gun that fires cheap ammo and turned it into a cheap gun that fires expensive ammo?

whatever floats your boat i guess.
 
well not quite
ive taken an affordable gun that fires a calibre which is over the limit for hunting in southern ontario and made it below the limit so now you can hunt with it, this is what floats my boat. Otherwise its a target gun only in the original chambering and if you own one you know its not gonna break any paper records

I think it is great idea, what ever you can make, that you like, that works for you, awesome. Really sweet project fella, good job man, enjoy it as much as you can.
 
oh and i forgot to mention i lent it to a buddy who didnt clean it like i told him to and the original bore was toast. No other excuses needed for me to yank it and do a tim allen on it
 
How did you do the breach face? I have a couple of spare ar barrels thought I might put one on my 858. How about the preasure, is this action capable of handeling the 6.5 or the .223 preasure, it's quite a jump from the modest 7.62 x 39 level.

BTW-Where the hell do you get "a cheap" gun from a $700 + CZ ??????

I once put a 26" barrel on a chinese SKS to make it into a ipsofacto Dragonoff, I call it my SKSANOFF! Shoots great and fun! Build what you want, life is far too short to be questioned by the uninformed with no imagination.

Easy there. I don't think he was "riding" him, maybe he was just curious why he did what he did. No harm done. I don't think he asked it in an offensive way.

Compared to most other black and green rifles in the country, the CZ is quite cheap.

And I didn't mean to offend, it just strikes me as a very unusual project. usually people convert to a more mainstream caliber like .223 or .308
 
no groups till i pin the front sight on and before that i need to settle on a barrel length. im also short some small rifle primers too, got about 50 left and no way to replace them
 
Congrats on the nifty project, but I must say I'm also puzzled why you would convert a rifle with little to no capability of taking advantage of the reason for the Grendal in the first place. No offence intended.
