So I was getting ready for work when the doorbell rang and a DHL guy dropped off my 1120 rounds of ammo. Then, I had to run into town and my sis tells me a long package came for me. Both in one day! I had to go back to work so I had to wait a few hours to get home to open the package (longest work day ever:p) So anyways, I get home, grab the package and open it up. There is the prettiest SKS I have ever seen! Nice dark red stock and a Silver Bolt, I ordered a black bolt, or at least payed for a black bolt so that was a bonus (I sent a message to Frontier to see if it was alright, I am an honest guy after all). I am going to clean it up and hopefully post some pics. What really surprised me was the shipping. DHL I knew would be fast, but it only took one night, as opposed to the 1-2 day quote (its usually the longer quote). The rifle got here same day, and was shipped Canada Post. What really confused me was the fact that I paid with a money order, got the "Priority" shipping and took 5 business days to get there. While the package was shipped "expedient" and got here in three.

Sorry about the crap pic, I knew people would want to see it so I rushed it. Trust me, she is WAY prettier in real life! I think she will go nicely with my all Original Long Branch Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1*.

Well, I am thinking of getting another one, with a terrible stock, and putting a synthetic stock and red dot sight on it. Make a modern, cool looking SKS. I put a red dot sight on my .22 and I love it, and since SKS's are literally everywhere, won't be hard to find another.

What's more fun than having a SKS? Having a SKS AND 1120 rounds of ammo for it :D

I am happy with it. And the service from Frontier is excellent. The guy said that they sent me a silver bolt because they had so many of them, and the things I asked for were on more silvers then black ones so they just sent me a silver bolt for the same price. Gonna try to head up to the mountain next day off and see how she performs. I got lots of ammo so I am gonna try to drag a couple of friends up there with me.
 
I took it to the range today, I am quite happy. Recoil was just right, not so light its boring, but it does not leave you reaching for an Ice pack after 40 rounds. Accuracy was great, its better then i am, and the stripper fed so smooth, no need to force the round in. I can't wait to head up to my shooting spot in the mountains with a few friends, will probably go through more then 40 rounds though.

Ya, the cleaning was a PITA. next time I am defiantly taking a few hundred rounds out. If I bring some friends out I might just take the whole Crate. I Actually shot 80 off, so I still have 1040 rounds in the first crate, and a whole other sealed crate to go (the store sent me an extra crate by accident, but instead of sending it back I just said F*ck it and said I would buy it.)

Well actually, as mentioned above, I have two crates now. Frontier sent me two by mistake and I just bought the second one instead of sending it back. Frontier was great to deal with. They did not charge me for shipping on the second one.

Ya, I completely stripped it down and rinsed with hot water. I poured water down the barrel, gas tube, and the little hole that goes into the barrel (gas port?). I then used a q-tip soaked in water to scrub the smaller holes. Then I dried as much as I could, the water evaporated mostly at the end. I also soaked the bolt in Kerosene to remove the carbon, then rinsed in hot water to dissolve the salts.
 
becareful not the get the wood on the top HG wet cos that would damage the wood . well , wipe quickly .
