Hey guys I just wanted to know to know what kind of accuracy you can get with a scoped lee enfield #1 mk 3 sporter at like 200 yards. Around 3 inch groups ? Iv got the scope mount for it and am going to pick up a cheeper bushnell scope for it in the next few days just wanted to know whats an average grouping. The rifles bore is in great shape.

I had a Lithgow sporter that would shoot 1-1 1/2" groups at 100 yds with factory ammo. Theoretically it should shoot 3" at 200 but 4-6" would be more realistic. What are you shooting that has a kill zone smaller than 6"?
Assuming the headspacing is tight, The ammo meets the OAL for the chamber, Scope mount is tight, etc..
Oh hell, 3" @ 200 yards, I would be happy. Tweaking would maybe get a better group, but there are allot of variables to do with that and a bit of money.

The best I have witnessed is one I refurbed for a good friend of mine here. He was shooting mixed commercial ammo, iron sight, getting groups of about 2 inches at 100 yards.

I have a bubba RSAF 1918 SMLE I bought off a forum member a few years ago, I tried it out at the 200 yard gong at my club (standing) this past winter one day, I hit the gong 4 times out of 5 with the issue irons, the gong is probably 10" in diameter and round.
