Why so scared to buy an XCR ??

I love mine.....though I want the new trigger. For me, the ability to go shooting with it on the ranch, as it's non-restricted, was worth the money. It's not better than an AR ( I have 2 of those), but sitting up on a hill top at 2-300 yards and picking off coyotes makes me very happy.

How do you like the CAA butt stock? I was thinking about getting one, but not much in the way of reviews can be found.

Is the adjustable cheek piece worth while?

I like the CAA buttstock. The rubber on the back is easy on the shoulder, and I think I paid something like $20 for the adjustable cheek peice, which is nice if you have a scoped rifle. I never could stand the original stock that came with the XCR. The sling mount on the stock is fixed in place and makes for a good stock hook for me. I'm right handed and my left hand hooks in between the stock and sling mount and pins the stock to my shoulder....quite comfortable for my style of shooting.

I own one. Have had it for quite some time now. Mine came with the newer style gas block. I also ended up getting a collapsable stock for it. Shoots ok. Fit between the upper and lower is a bit sloppy, but easily fixed. Trigger just plain sucks. They won't direct ship a trigger, have to go through wolverine.

All in all, it is a very reliable rifle, I have never had a jam and I've shot a gazillion types of ammo. with handloads this rifle is very easy to shoot sub inch. To rebarrel the gun is simple with the modular action system. This gun could be made to be a match gun very easily.

As comparing the price to my sig. Nope. The sig is a wicked gun, but I like guns with no plastic on them. The sig is great, support sucks. Accuracy is wicked.

The full length rail on the XCR will make the gun a good seller. By the time you put a Daniel Defense rail on a good AR and all the other goodies, you are pissed that your modest ar is now not so modest in price.

As for price, who gives a crap. When you get into the black guns you better kiss your wallet good-bye. This gun will rock in 6.8 and eventually in 6.5(wooooohoooo) and eventually there will be a non-restricted .308 black gun! wicked awesome.

The only thing (hate harping on the negative) is the $hitty trigger. How a trigger like this could leave the factory beats me. I talked with their customer service, and how polite and nice they were but unable to accomodate - if you pay the money we've have paid and they can't figure a way to upgrade/replace/repair the trigger that is a mistake - we are not talking about a 200 dollar rifle here.

If I was in the market for a new one, I would get the 6.8 off the shelf. Cool gun, unrestricted and you've got the 6.8 ballistics.

cheers.

XCR-L will convert into a 6.8 but will not convert to .308. That's a different gun that should be available soon.

yep. you are right. wasn't meaning to link them as the same gun.

But when you talk about them being available soon...... I beg to differ. Certainly don't hold your breath.

Why are people so scared to buy xcrs . IMO it is the only black rifle to buy.
 Where is this coming from? Who's scared? Am I only allowed to buy one black rifle? Are you just trollin'?

Any that make it to Canada are usually sold before they arrive. The waiting lists are lengthy...

Obviously high demand, despite the price point, makes me wonder what observations you are basing your question on.

Before you bother (you know who), I'm not blaming Alex Robinson for the Canadian retail price, but the fact remains they are not cheap.

That said, I would look at them if offered in 6.8mm - there are already many desirable 5.56mm rifles available to satisfy my craving.

Robarms has been working on the XCR-M .308 for a while now. Check the web site and they state it's a top priority now. I did not mean to imply they are soon to ship but hopefully they won't be too much longer with them. When they do put them into production and if available in Canada I will buy one.

How does a 17 year old come up with thousands of dollars for guns and ammo? What with school, friends, and with the ever important girls.

This is in no way to knock you, I think it's great a young kid takes interest in legally owning firearms.

I bought my first computer cutting lawns.

It's a good part time business for younger teens, the key to success is CONTRACTS.
$20 for the lawn once is ok, $15/wk all summer is MUCH better.
I just went and did peoples lawns with their equipment.
