Hello to all,
New to the sport here and looking to get into target shooting / occasional hunting.

The local club rents Lakefield single shots and I was wondering, what's a "fair" price for one of these in the used market?

Thanks!

Sorry I would buy a ruger 10/22 or remmy 597 and have money left over. If you like bolt guns I would go on the EE here and buy an older target gun with nice adjustable peep rear sight or one that is grooved for a scope then. That is winchester/cooey money for a bolt gun. It might be a really nice piece but you can get something in a more trusted name for that, just my opinion.

Which Lakefield are you referring to? Something that originally retailed for $129 or that originally retailed for $600? Guys above are talking like there was only ever one rimfire from Lakefield. I have a 91T that I put up for sale on the EE and I've shot 5 shot groups in the 0.2's and average in the 0.3's at 50 yards using American Eagle ammo. Something like the 91T or 90B that originally sold for $500-$600 13 years ago isn't in the same category as a Mark I that retailed for $129.00 back at the same time.

So, 350+ for a 91T is definitely too much...?

The 91T is magazine fed, with heavy match stock/bottom rail, bull barrel and peeps. The trigger could use some work but the inherent accuracy is outstanding. I bought mine for almost $500 out the door 10 years ago. This is a target trifle, and not your run-of-the-mill Lakefield single shot.

350$ too much? Depends what you are looking for. 91T is like a training rifle for Olympic style match shooting. It is not a sporter or hunting rifle.

I paid $300 for my 91T single shot a couple months ago and didn't bat an eye. They are not that common and they outshoot anything that I have. did yours come with a matching case or anything else? mine was a decomissioned air cadet rifle, check the butt plate for a Sqdn marking.

Have fun shooting her, you won't be disappointed!

I wouldn't say $350 was too much. Asking what a good price for a lakefield is is like asking what a good price for a bike is; are you buying a kids bike, or an olympic trials bike?

I paid $65 for my Mark I Lakefield single shot. The MarkII repeater is quicker and the Mark III semi auto sure gets the job done when shooting critters. Though I do prefer the bolt for shooting as it invokes the time to aim better and make the shot count. I shoot one of the three almost weekly at the local range. i refinished all mine to a blonde colour as I disliked the dark laquered finish.
