Yep...........airsoft...
Slag airsoft all you want but Magpul did the smart thing with their PTS line. Instead of having their products ripped off, they make the money. not too mention how popular anything Magpul is to the airsofters. I'm pretty sure most of them beat off to Chris Costa.

I don't understand Airsoft at all. Why would you waste so much money on fake guns, when the real ones are available?
Paintball I can understand as it is all about the tactics and competition among friends, but Airsoft seems so very very ghey.

In Asia, firearm ownership is illegal in most places.This is the closest thing you can get to a real firearm without enlisting the military/police, hence the 1:1 trademarks and emphasis on milsim games. It isn't exactly a kids game like we see in the states.
Mock all you want but that is the reality of its original market. We mock it only because we are fortunate to be able to own the real thing. BTW they make for great training if done correctly.

No, really Airsoft is a sport/game,Its fun, its painful, the tactics are there or you get shot,Its similar to paintball but a little more realistic, guns are 1 to1 copies,
we all wanna play soldiers,You know you do! but we dont really wanna go die! so there is airsoft, its like frozen tag for grownups!
and dont knock it till you try it,
there is no fear like knowing your the last on on your team alive(in game) trying to get the objective and knowing you are being watched by others with full auto bb guns....waiting to shoot you,

its awesome, not cheap but awesome, but we are not gun nutz cause we are cheap,ok we some of us are cheap ...but we still play! real or toys,they are our passions and we shouldn't knock others for having them too!

Not trying to offend anyone, because quite frankly, each to his or her own. I assume airsoft lets people play military and shoot military looking weapons at each other without actually being in the military or the effects of actually shooting someone with military weapons. ie. death
As for tactics and competition, so was a game of tag.
OK I have never played Airsoft, or never shot an Airsoft, nore will I. But I can see it would make a great training tool without someone getting hurt while training. but you also don't get the training from the recoil aspect of live fire.
Airsoft is great! First off people that buy Real Steal, also use airsoft. I find some of the comments here pretty ignorant, and just plain uneducated. Airsoft can be used for training or fun, it is the closest thing we have to milsim other than what we use in CF.
As for recoil their are gas guns, and the Gas Blow Back pistols due give you some recoil, unfortunately it is not what I would like, it still has it's value. A lot of SWAT teams train with airsoft, although it works best with in CQB it is still better in many regards to any other form of milsim. I even prefer it in regards to what we used in the CF as for range you get out of AEG or gas gun.
P.S. it is far superior to paintball, and most people that play Airsoft are not young kids especially in Canada. There are many games scenarios that are played on the weekends that are amazing milsim events. Airsoft gives you the opportunity to do some real training as opposed to just shooting at targets that are stationary, you can get some real application of your skills to be used for a change.

I would think airsoft can offer some great tactical training while not getting shot.
I think there's a difference in playing airsoft and just buying the guns. Just buying the guns IMO is pretty dumb as I'm sure they can cost the same if not more than the real thing. But if your going to buy one so that you can train I think it's a good investment.
