Corrosive ammo?

Having been in the forces for the past 13 years, and only firing their weapons, I have finally got my license and have bought my own firearms.

So now I'm blasting off milsurp 7.62x39 and am for the first time hearing lots of talk about ammo being corrosive.

How corrosive is this stuff, and how concerned should I be about my firearms corroding due to it?

I've always been in the habit of both pre and post-firing cleanings, and fully intend on caring for my firearms as such.
 
Please use the Search function or surf this forum. This has been covered a million times.

You may have to select the Advanced Search option to ensure the time range for the search is filled in, then save your Search options with the button on the bottom of the menu.
 
Basically flush the rifle with HOT water, the corrosive element is a salt, which attracts moisture, and as mentioned before, if its humid, it will rust faster. Go to the red rifle forum, there is a cleaning thread started every 2.674 hours.

Yeah only one person told you to use the search function.

I don't know which is more useless, the search function or the people who tell you to go use it after you just got done with it.
