Lots of things lurking around. Camera set on a family members small acreage, within city limits of a SMALL sity.
About midnitght, the witching hour, and here he comes.

After this predator is long gone, a very secretive creature, a mamal very seldom seen, because of their strict nocturnal habits, though they are quite common. The flying squirrel. Note the flat tail, pointy, instead of fluffy. Also, the legs are web-like where they join the body, but not too visible in this picture.

Next 2 were taken on same property, in the spring. 12:00, hey, time for dinner.

Now the boss comes for a look, and see if anything is around to eat.

What's wrong with the bear? Those spots on his hide are burrs! This is near a creek and there is a burdock patch down a bit. The bear has showed up from time to time near the buildings and my family member says it was burrs, but they soon rubbed off.
The camera is a Moultry. I forget the model number, but the pictures are a bit over one mega byte, so that is fairly good resolution.
He set the camera over just one night and it took 165 pictures!! There were about twenty of the raccoon, about a dozen of the flying squirrel, then after daylight rhe red squirrels really got in the act! That is water in the dish on the right and everything drank from it.

Flying squirrels have been regular visitors to our bird feeder at the cottage. They generally appear between 10pm and midnight.
I had a damned coon on the railing last week. Bugger actually laid right down on the railing to eat the bird seed I'd left out for the flying squirrels who didn't appear that night.
