I just received my licence in the mail, I removed the card from the paper and threw the paper out. A coworker has just informed me that the piece of paper is to be carried with the licence. They showed me theirs and on the bottom portion of the back of the sheet it says it. Has anyone else read this, do we really need a plastic licence and a piece of paper in cluttering our wallets. Should I contact them and ask for new piece of paper. Thanks

It's a portion below a dotte line at the bottom of the page where it lists any conditions. It is to be detached at the bottom line and the instructions on the back are to carry with the licence card as you must be able to produce it upon request of a peace officer or other authority.

You only need to cary that piece of paper if you have "special conditions" on you licence. Example will look like

Standard conditions

You must inform Chief firearms officer of the province within 30 days of any change in name or address

Special conditions

(Blank space.)
If there is nothing written here you do not need to keep the paper with you.

If it looks like this you do not need to keep it. You will notice that the "secial conditions" section is blank.

I keep it with mine anyway.

Folded properly it makes a nice little protective sheath so the card doesn't get all scratched up being repeatedly pulled out and put back in my wallet.

I can't remember mine having any special conditions either and have since lost track of where I've placed it. Is there anyway we can request for a reprint?

The PAL card itself should say on the front of it whether there are standard or special conditions attatched to the licence.
