I have been looking at the CZ Shadow for quite some time; I think I may break down and buy one. I have shot one at the range and, once I put a couple mags through it, I can shoot it better than my Beretta quite easily. I like the sight picutre, but I hit about 6-8" high at 25 meters with a 6 oclock hold. I have been thinking of putting an adjustable sight on it if I get it; does anyone here have experience with putting adjustable sights on a Shadow? If you do, what type did you use, and waht did you think?

Why? I'm not sure what you mean by a "6 o'clock hold" but my own Shadow and another I've shot shoot nicely to point of aim at that range. Are you putting the center of the bull right on the middle of the top outline of the front sight or doing the rifle trick of covering the bull center with the sight?

Yeah, mine will put a bullet right where the front F/O is at 25m. My only sight problem is I find the F/O too big and I've been putting off getting a smaller one for quite some time.
I do not shoot at bullseye target; I shoot at Figure 11 military targets for the most. What you would consider the center of the target is porbably about 1/2 the size, and I am placing the top of the sights under the small area in the center mass and I am shooting the target in the neck. Everyone at the range shoots this pistol high, and I shoot most to center of aim, so I know it is not my hold.

It is not your hold, my gun is sighted to point of aim at 50 yards. So a six o'clock hold work on for falling plates at 25 yards. The gun is set up for ipsc style shooting with a large and long A zone and it works well for that.
The CZ have the same dovetail so any cz adjustable should work. However if you do swith it out you will lose a lot in the resale market. The ipsc folks, for whom this gun is perfect for will not buy it for competition. `The cheapest route would be to sell it and buy an adjustable CZ.

You can get taller FO front sights from Ghost Products in the US which likely will solve your problem. Mine is bang on when I drop the FO to the bottom of the rear sight notch otherwise it shoots high when I set the top of the front sight level with the top of the rear sight notch. I find it counter intuitive to drop the FO to the bottom of rear sight notch particularly when shooting small steel plates at 10 - 15 yards but it works.
I primarily use my gun for IDPA with IPSC a close 2nd. When the buzzer goes off I have a few other issues going on that keeps me from biting Rob Leatham's heels so I'll live with the set up I have.

Interesting, there's obviously some variation in how the factory installs sights then because these two cases are the first I've read of it shooting so high for close in. Mine and the other one I tried shoot nicely to point of aim out to 25 yards and if I was shooting at 50 yards I'd have to be the one to compensate. I going to go out on a limb and suggest that Corey's and Canuck's guns were not set up right at the factory since with IPSC the vast majority of the shooting is close in and that's where the sights should be set.
I would prefer not to have the slide modified for the sight if I get one; I would be more likely to look at another type of sight. I have an LPA sight on my Beretta; I shot a 243 out of 250 on the practice run for a mountie that shoots with us (would have had 246 if I knew I could have fired my first shot at 25 meters single action

After you get it where it should be re-paint the silver areas.
I'm not an IPSC rules lawyer but I do believe that if you switch the rear sight out that you will need to replace it with a CZ sight if you want to keep your Shadow elligable for IPSC Production class events.

I will not be shooting IPSC anytime soon; biggest thing I could see is to work my butt off and try to make it on the civilian team for CFSAC at Connaught. I may look at the LPA sights that CZ sells (same thing on 85 Combat).

There is no reason to touch the slide. If you do, it takes you out of IPSC Production. CZ sells FO front sights in different heights. Order a taller one from Ghost in the US and pop it in.
