Moving to Sudbury..

Looks as though the job offer I have in Sudbury is coming to fruition and when all the i's are crossed and t's dotted :D, I will be accepting and moving up!

We are mostly deer hunter's and avid grouse and waterfowl hunters.
It will be weird driving hours to the controlled/shotgun deer hunt area when it is twenty minutes from where we currently live and then staying with family....

Just checking with other CGN'ers how the hunting is around this area and the opportunities for hunting.

We are planning on buying a house with land well outside of the city.

Lots of crown around there, and plenty of moose, but can be tricky getting an adult tag in that area...Lots of hunting right at your door

IIRC the moose rifle season there is 5 weeks long, deer rifle is 2 weeks, overlapping the moose...:)
 
Use to have a great moose population but i've been seeing less and less every year, and more and more black bears. Deer population was on the rise but not sure after the winter we've had. Good grouse population. Great waterfowl. Awesome fishing

What job have you been offered? Wierd that there's thousands of people out of jobs up here but they're bringing people in from other places to work...

just a head up we have the best road system in the world (top notch quality too)
two roads one way east,west (lassalle and kingsway)
two roads the other way north,south(barydowne and notre dame)

Oh yeah and the astronauts actually trained here to go to the moon!!

You could always moved here to kingston, we have the highest drug use per capita in Canada. Thanks to the scumbags that the 6 prisons draw...
 
Cant believe you got a job in Sudbury, I just got laid off after 9 years of service, all in all its not a bad place to live, Iam still trying to crack the moose hunting code, but good deer hunting is not to far away.

The astronauts were here so that they could learn to recognize a unique geological feature, called a shattercone, created 1.8 billion years ago when the meteorite that created the Sudbury basin impacted. They were supposed to be looking for them on the moon.
