My new rig:

-Savage 10-FLCP (Accutrigger, Accustock) in .308
-EGW Picatanny rail
-Burris Signature ZEE rings (medium)
-Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 (652164T)

All encase in a "high end" Flambeau case (with the ZeRust insert :cool:).


Not sure if I like the scope rings... The 20 M.O.A. adjustment inserts are nice... but I can't help they feel... "cheap"... Or at least, not tacticool enough. :redface:

Still requires a bipod, yep, it'll be a brand-name Harris. Chinese junk belongs on my cheapo rimfire. This rifle deserves a bit more. Just gotta wait until payday, hey now, I just went and sunk about $2300 on this combo today! :eek::dancingbanana:

Now I gotta wait to get back home to shoot it, another week. Currently out in Edmonton working, and definitely no time to go out to a range. :(

And yes, this is going in the plane as luggage... if not a bit fragile. West Jet takes care of me. :agree:

I shot mine yesterday preliminary testing (sighting in) seems good. She is gonna be one heck of a nice rifle. more pics....

Accustock, great idea... why didn't I think of this. The little wedge tightens into place effectively locking in the recoil lug, basically eliminating the need for further bedding the action. The long aluminum bedding rails makes this a stiff setup, but not overly heavy at 8.9 lbs.

A free-floating 24" fluted heavy barrel (1 in 10")with Muzzle brake, wasn't as loud as I expected :), and, with the help of the new Savage P.A.D. (Personal Anti-recoil Device) reduce felt recoil to that of a rimfire rifle

Nice gun, but I really can't believe there has only been one comment about the 'achmed' part. Seriously, everyone would be having puppies if you said 'Bye-Bye gophers and Jews' There is no difference. I try to stay out of politics etc on the internet, but this just disgusts me. I tried to give it over night to see if a mod would kill the hate post, but apparently not. The complete lack of respect for fellow humans aside (BIG aside there!); gun lovers are saddled with enough of an uphill battle, adding racist, hate-mongering/threatening posts like this doesn't help.

Achmed was a joke. Ya never seen Jeff Dunham? His plastic puppet cracks me up. :D

I'm positively one of the least racist people in the world... Dear gawd folks, loosen up!

Firemachine, thanks for changing the title. As for you wanting to kill that puppet; fair enough, I've seen Jeff Dunham too. Sorry I missed your reference, I guess I needed you to toss an 'I keeel you' in there somewhere lol.

I guess I just get tired of seeing all the bigotry go uncontested on this board and others and figured I'd pipe up. I am glad I misinterpreted you, and that no bigotry was intended. (where is the offered handshake emotion when you need it?)

As for those calling me a whiner... if i thought some guy was making a seriously racist/hate mongering comment on our board, I think staying silent is the bigger error. The fact that I was wrong on the comment doesn't make me a whiner, it means I missed a joke.

That's okay, my fault really, I was watching the Achmed section not a day before, hence the joking reference (and forgetting Achmed is "yesterday" :D). No bigotry intended, we are all equal people! :)


Stormbringer actually changed the title, he sent me the infraction notice and I had no idea what it was for... Until I actually came back to the thread later and realized that's what it was for the "Achmeds" portion. Minor detail I missed. Not that I agree with the infraction, but seeing as what Storm believed at the time, I can understand his assumptions (and leading actions). Bigotry has no place on these boards.
